Inventory Management process
Assets and materials information collection is quite tedious exercise to do in term of the implementation of doing it. The person who are doing this activity require specific tools so that the information on the assets and materials can be gather to speed up the organization business operation. Without specific tools like Inventory management software, the assets and materials information is hardly captured. The process of inventoring the assets and materials cannot be done is short term, it has to be institutionalize in the business work process. It is doesn’t matter if you are using RFID or GIS or GPS to assist in assets tracking, the business flow must be documented. This is to ensure each and every part of the flow is functioning so that the assets and materials tracking can be done accurately.
Indeed, when all the business flow and parts of the system is functioning well, it will speed up the decision making process and daily work process. What happen if we do not have a proper business flow?For the example in warehouse industry, the proper inventory system is require so that incoming and outgoing materials and assets can be trace and arrange in a properly order. In fact, from the financial view point, it will help the warehouse manager to plan the space requirement of the inventory when it come to the incoming and outgoing assets. This is the beauty of inventory system whereby the system will speed up the process of monitoring.
As for the users or the customer, the perfect tracking system in any industry who are dealing with the inventory management will at least speed up the process of identifying of any materials when the proper system assist in information retrieval. For the example, in agriculture industry, the customer will be able to check through the type of the fertilizer available at the market by looking at the RFID. This RFID tag will then will retrieve the property or information id about this fertilizer.
